NABC FOUNDATION COURT OF HONOR/2013 DETAILS
On June 27th in New York City, the NABC Foundation will hold its fourth Court of Honor Gala, honoring Jim Nantz, lead commentator for CBS Sports. In 2013, Nantz called the play-by-play for his 28th consecutive NCAA® Men's Final Four® and is also the CBS lead commentator for PGA Tour golf and the NFL on CBS. Twice in the last seven years, the multi-Emmy Award winnerhad the rare opportunity over a span of just 63 days to broadcast the Super Bowl, the men's Final Four, and the Masters®.The real winner from the Court of Honor Gala is the NABC Foundation's TTRR (Ticket To Reading Rewards) program, helping raise literacy among middle school students across America. The students are encouraged to read books outside of the classroom and receive various rewards, including visits from college coaches and tickets to college basketball games.
The Court of Honor Gala Award is presented to an individual, businessman, educator, etc., who has roots in college basketball, values those roots in the game and has gone on to distinguish himself in his profession, exhibiting the highest standards for leadership.
